If you ask me about wearing one baby at a time I have TONS of advice:) I have used just about every style of carrier at many different ages. But when it comes to multiples I tend to come up a bit short.:) I have seen it done and have friends that do it, but really have no first hand experience. So here are some tips and information from some moms who have been there done that. Hope it helps!
"I didn't start wearing until the twins were 16mos old, and didn't have more than one carrier for a LONG time (recently), but I have since worn both a 2yo twin on my back with the baby on front, as well as both twins together, at 2.5yo. I find it much easier to wear 2 at once when you use either a wrap or MT on front, with a SSC on back...no matter the ages. 2 SSCs together is doable, but it's hard to get the straps to lay well, together! Both pictures below were surprising very comfortable. The twin and baby, I wore tandem for almost an hour, and could have gone longer. The two twins, it was just a run to the mailbox (they wanted to go, and I didn't feel like getting socks and shoes on them for that LOL), but was comfortable too, and could have gone much longer...they didn't want to get down at first! :P The twins are 23 and 25lbs each, and the baby was about 10.5lbs at the time."
H is 2y7mo in an Angelpack, A is about 3.5mos in a BBII.

E and H are both 2y7mo old, in an Ergo and Kozy MT.
"One of the hardest times for wearing multiples is the in between time when babies weigh 8 pounds and up, but are under 6 months old. This is a time when the babies are too big to fit in to one carrier together, but when they are too small for most people to feel comfortable putting the babies on their backs. During this stage I often recommend a mei tai. Because it is so easy on and off you can wear one baby and quickly put that baby down in a crib or swing when the baby falls asleep and then put the second baby into the mei tai. Mei tais make it easy to switch between children.
It is also possible to wear two ring slings when babies are small. With these carriers you can support a small or sleeping baby's head but still comfortably wear two.
Lastly, as they get bigger, a SSC is ideal. Because of it's design it can easily work with another carrier. So, whether you have a baby on your front in a ring sling or a toddler on your back in a mei tai, you can add a SSC into the mix and it will fit easily and be supportive. And for those situations where the babies have lost their patience, a SSC is quick and will get you and the babies moving and happy quickly. "

2 ring slings- ( The fabric can be pulled up when they are asleep to support their heads as well:)) babies age in pictures is about 3 months or 2 months adjusted age.

A Mei tai and a Buckle carrier (SSC) and the blue is a ring sling- she is wearing all 3:) WOW! Age is 3 months also.
"As a mom of multiples I was in search of a way to wear two of my triplets and push a double stroller with the other baby and my two year old. I fell in love with the Beco carriers and tried the Butterfly II and Gemini. They work great! I have tried different configurations and have found that the gemini works great in the front because you can cross the straps behind you and eliminate some of the strap overlap. Of, course you have to put the baby in the Gemini first, then put a second Gemini or Butterfly II on your back next. It also works to carry a baby in the Butterfly on the front and another on your back if you prefer to put the baby/child on your back first. These carries are so great because you can use them either way easily. Carrying two would also be possible with two Gemini carriers, especially with older babies. My Beco carriers have made it possible for me to go out alone with my triplets and my two year old! I cannot say enough positive things about the quality and selection of Beco carriers and the excellent customer service from Frogmama!"~Mandy- mom of triplets and a 2 year old

Here is a GREAT video she made showing how she gets them on.
For me, personally, i didn’t wear both the babies at the same time very much. it was a challenge to get them both on and as soon as i would get them settled, one would start fussing to nurse and I’d have to take them off. when they were tiny, i wore them (individually) in a sling. as soon as they were old enough (around 3.5 months) i started wearing them in the buckle carrier/SSC or mei tai. i didn’t keep my mei tai very long because it wasn’t very comfortable for me.
When i wore them both i either used the sling and the Buckle carrier or i used both buckle carriers. using two buckle carriers was definitely the easiest. Again, though, I only did it when I was at home alone and pretty desperate. a lot of times when I was out, I would wear one on my back and just carry the other one.
